Week 7 - Division 3 Scoreboard

DECEMBER 4, 2025 GAME 1 China Hockey Group outlasts Manulife 7-6 in overtime shootout In a wild back-and-forth battle, China Hockey Group edged Manulife 7-6 in overtime, capping a game filled with momentum swings and clutch scoring. Manulife jumped out early as Jackie Chan scores on a spin-a-rama shot that goes off Sumi Chau at 3:25 and Jason Yip right off the next faceoff breaks through the CHG D 30 seconds later and roofs it top corner glove side to make it 2-0 just 1.5 minutes into the game. Middle of the first, CHG responded as Stephen Levac cycled across the front of the slot and goes cross grain blocker side to close within 1, followed by Andy Ma (CHG LPP) completing a 2 on 1 pass from Art Tam (CHG LPP) with a one timer past Chau to tie the game. 2-2 after the first period. The second period saw CHG take the lead when Art Tam struck at 2:40 as he snuck one by Grant Phillips near post glove side low to give CHG their first lead, only for Reto Broennimann to answer with a point shot post and in, at 5:12 and Gary Lawrence benefits from a battle on the boards to get a puck all alone in front of the net. Chau stopped the initial shot, but it slid behind her, and Gary who goes to the net like you're supposed to, found it and poked it in to push Manulife ahead. 4-3 after 2 periods. The third period was a rollercoaster - Levac tied it at 2:30, and Andy Ma restored CHG's lead at 5:15 as he banged home a corner feed from Reston Ko to give CHG the lead again. Reto equalized on the power play at 9:59 with shot in the slot by a screened Chau, and Lawrence made it 6-5 with his 2nd of the night at 12:24. It was looking like Manulife was going to hold on, but David Finifter's point shot found Jon Mei on the backdoor as he tipped it behind Chau with 14 seconds left in the 3rd to tie the game at 6 forcing overtime, where Levac sealed the win at 3:30 with an unassisted marker as he closed in and fired it far side. Grant Phillips faced 29 shots, stopping 22 for Manulife, while Sumi Chau turned aside 17 of 23 for CHG. Three Stars of the Game: 1. Stephen Levac (CHG) - 2 goals (including OT winner) 2. Reto Broennimann (Manulife) - 2 goals, 1 assist 3. Reston Ko (CHG) - 3 assists GAME 2 JOG Sports stuns RBC Lions 2-1 in overtime JOG Sports pulled off a dramatic 2-1 overtime win against RBC Lions in a tightly contested defensive showdown. After two scoreless periods, JOG broke the deadlock in the third when Tracy Wong scored a breakaway goal going forehand backhand off Scott Strickland’s feed. This looked to be enough as JOG was able to keep RBC frustrated, but a late penalty put RBC on a late powerplay. And with time winding down, Shane Weir tips a Antoine Devolz point shot past Arthur Chan with only 16 seconds remaining to force overtime. In overtime, 48 seconds into the extra frame, Leon Mo intercepts a pass in his own zone, catches Devolz off balance at the blueline and breaks down the ice, pulls up waiting for Tracy Wong, then they perform a give and go before going cross crease to bury the winner past Chan to give JOG the victory. Martin Jim was outstanding in net for JOG, stopping 17 of 18 shots (.944 SV%), while Arthur Chan kept RBC in the game with 16 saves on 18 shots (.889 SV%). Three Stars of the Game: 1. Tracy Wong (JOG) - 1 goal, 1 assist 2. Martin Jim (JOG) - 17 saves 3. Arthur Chan (RBC) - 16 saves GAME 3 AsiaXpat edges VetiVa 7-6 in a high-scoring thriller AsiaXpat and VetiVa traded blows in a goal-filled contest, with AsiaXpat emerging victorious 7-6 thanks to a four-goal performance from Alvin Sham. VetiVa struck first just 24 seconds in through Theo Wong as he snuck one short side past Nicholas Sellers, but AsiaXpat answered with a flurry - Patrick Costello scored at 1:12 tipping one by Grant Phillips (VetiVa LPP), followed 2 on 1 goal by Justin Wong as he puts a Bedardlike strike into the top corner after receiving a great pass from Dave Lee. On the next shift, Wong chips a pass off the center ice boards to Alvin Sham who does the rest as he blew thru the VetiVa defense and avoids the poke-check by Phillips to score. Patrick Costello then finished a 2 on 1 with Sham to make it 4-1 Xpat before Theo Wong scored again to keep VetiVa within 2 goals. 4-2 after the first. In the second period Wong completed his hattrick with a laser past Sellars, followed by his 4th as he finished off an intentional pass off the back boards from Justin Lam to Wong on the backdoor to tie the game at 4. However, Sham answered back with a laser top corner glove side from the left faceoff dot followed shortly with his hatty off an offensive faceoff as he wins the faceoff poking it past Tam, goes around him and cuts out from side of the net to bury it 5-hole to regain Xpat's 2 goal lead. 6-4 Xpat after 2 periods. In the 3rd, VetiVa answered back when Ray Tang (VetiVa LPP) take a pass from Josh Steinhaus in the corner, cuts out and goes backhand 5-hole on Sellars to close it to 6-5. Midway in the 3rd, Sham got added a fourth as he stole the puck from the VetiVa defense at the blueline for a breakaway and again deked Phillips who desperately tried to poke check Sham to regain 2 goal lead. A few minutes later, Josh Steinhaus powered past 2 Xpat D as he fired it past Sellars in close to bring VetiVa within 1, but they fell short as they could not find the equalizer late in the game as AsiaXpat hung on for the win.
