Week 15 - Division 3 SEMI-FINALS Scoreboard

MARCH 12TH, 2026 SCIHL Division 3 Playoff Edition Semi Finals - Manulife edges past AsiaXpat in overtime, while VetiVa dominated over CHG to both reach the SCIHL 2025-2026 Championship final. SCIHL Champions Finals: 9:30pm - Manulife vs VetiVa GAME 1 Manulife outlasts AsiaXpat 3-2 in overtime defensive battle Manulife earned a hard fought 3-2 overtime victory over AsiaXpat in a tightly contested matchup highlighted by disciplined defense, timely scoring, and strong goaltending at both ends. The opening period saw Manulife strike first despite being shorthanded. At 10:30, Jason Yip cycled to the top of the faceoff circle and fired a wrist shot that evaded Nicholas Sellars to open the scoring with a short-handed goal. Chances were exchanged but Sheldon Ng (Manulife LPP) turned aside several AsiaXpat chances to preserve the advantage through the first intermission. AsiaXpat responded early in the second period. Justin Wong tied the game at 2:30 with a shot from the slot, converting a setup from Alvin Sham to make it 1-1. Manulife quickly regained the lead just over a minute later when Jackie Chan fired home a Johnny Leung rebound to restore the 2-1 edge. The third period featured sustained pressure from AsiaXpat, and Wong delivered again at 9:44, this time going top corner blocker side from a tight angle to knot the game at 2-2. Both teams traded chances late, but goaltenders stood tall to force overtime. In the extra frame, Manulife capitalized at 3:21 when Yip, parked to the left side of the net, tipped home a Reto Broennimann point shot for the game winner, sending Manulife through to the Championship final. Sheldon Ng (Manulife LPP) was sharp for Manulife, stopping 15 of 17 shots, while Nicholas Sellars turned aside 19 of 22 in a strong showing for AsiaXpat. Three Stars of the Game: 1. Reto Broennimann (Manulife) - 2 assists GAME 2 VetiVa overwhelms China Hockey Group 10-2 with explosive offensive performance VetiVa delivered a dominant 10-2 victory over China Hockey Group, erupting for double-digit goals behind a relentless attack and a massive night from their top line. VetiVa set the tone in the opening period as Theo Wong struck twice late-first a one timer in the slot at 13:11 on a feed from Matt Ng and Josh Steinhaus, then again at 14:36 with Steinhaus and Ng assisting - to give VetiVa a 2-0 lead after one. The second period saw VetiVa completely take control. Matt Ng extended the lead at 2:20 with a snipe to the top corner glove side, followed by a goal from Juerg Fritschi at 3:36 when he went blocker side low post from the high slot. Ng added two more at 10:27 and 12:29, both assisted by Wong and Fritschi, pushing the score to 6-1 despite a lone response from Stephen Levac at 10:44 for CHG, a shot from the left boards that went low glove past Adrian Huen. VetiVa showed no signs of slowing in the third. Wong completed his hat trick early at 2:16, finishing a passing play from Ng and Fritschi, then added two more goals at 5:46 and 8:08 to cap a five-goal night. Levac scored again for CHG at 11:52 off a Warren Ang assist, but Ng closed out the scoring at 12:20 with his fourth goal of the game, assisted by Wong and Steinhaus. Adrian Huen earned the win in goal for VetiVa, stopping 11 of 13 shots, while Nick Fong (CHG LPP) faced heavy pressure for CHG, making 16 saves on 26 shots. Week 15 - Division 3 Scoreboard

MARCH 5TH, 2026 GAME 1 China Hockey Group blanks RBC Lions 6-0 behind dominant two-way performance China Hockey Group delivered a commanding 6-0 shutout over the RBC Lions, combining explosive scoring with airtight defense and a flawless goaltending performance from Sheldon Ng (CHG LPP). CHG opened the scoring in the first period when Jon Mei’s forecheck forced the puck to Hans Sham all alone in front of the net, who fires stick side at 9:58. Warren Ang added to the lead when he completed the pass from Keith Hong across the crease into the open side to make it 2-0 after one. Just 30 seconds into the second period, Ang notched his second of the night when he put in the rebound from a Ng Hok Hin (CHG LPP) shot to push the lead to 3-0. CHG continued the onslaught in the third. At 3:05, Hong made it 4-0 on a cross-crease pass from Ng. Hong then added another at 4:10 with Ng assisting again with a near identical play as the earlier goal. The scoring was capped at 14:40 on the power play when Ng scored off a setup from Stephen Levac to complete the 6-0 statement win. Sheldon Ng (CHG LPP) was perfect in net, stopping all 17 shots he faced for the shutout. RBC’s Arthur Chan made 27 saves on 33 shots in a valiant effort despite the loss. Three Stars of the Game: 1. Keith Hong (CHG) - 2 goals, 1 assist 2. Warren Ang (CHG) - 2 goals, 1 assist 3. Sheldon Ng (LPP) (CHG) - Shutout, 17 saves GAME 2 Manulife rallies past AsiaXpat 5-4 with strong late push Manulife earned a hard-fought 5-4 comeback win over AsiaXpat, overcoming an early deficit with timely scoring and depth contributions across the lineup. AsiaXpat jumped out to a strong start in the first period. Paul Kim opened the scoring at 9:50 when he fired a slap shot from the right point into the top corner stick side. Alvin Sham doubled the lead on a setup from Rick Chu to make it 2-0 heading into the break. Manulife responded in the second period. Jason Yip got them on the board at 1:30, when he went short side post and in after receiving a pass Bonnie Lui (Manulife LPP) in the corner to cut the lead to 2-1. Sham struck again for AsiaXpat at 3:20 after stick handling thru 2 defenders and going 5-hole on Titlis Joe (Manulife LPP), restoring a 3-1 advantage. But Manulife surged back - Reto Broennimann’s slap shot to the top corner at 7:04 made it 2-3, but a John Ng (AsiaXpat LPP) wrist shot on the powerplay regained a 2-goal lead for AsiaXpat before late in the period, Manulife converted their own power play when Ryan Lee scored to close the gap to 4-3. The final frame belonged to Manulife. Jackie Chan tied the game 4-4 at 2:10 on a pass from Oscar Lam, and late in the game at 13:04 Edwin Lau delivered the first lead in the game and game-winner for Manulife with a backhand 5-hole goal in the low slot. In net, Arthur Chan (AsiaXpat LPP) stopped 19 of 24 shots, while Titlis Joe (Manulife LPP) made 13 saves on 17 shots. Three Stars of the Game: 1. Leroy Hung (Manulife) - 2 assists 2. Alvin Sham (AsiaXpat) - 2 goals, 1 assist 3. Reto Broennimann (Manulife) - 1 goal, 1 assist GAME 3 VetiVa edges JOG Sports 5-4 in overtime after a back-and-forth battle VetiVa claimed a dramatic 5-4 overtime victory over JOG Sports in a thriller that saw momentum swing repeatedly before Arthur Tam sealed the win in sudden death. JOG struck first in the opening period when Tracy Wong scored at 5:16 when she redirected a hard pass at the side of the net from Leon Mo to make it 1-0. VetiVa responded quickly - Paul Chai equalized at 8:36 when he scored a 5-hole from the bottom of the faceoff dot, and immediately struck again at 9:12 when he slotted home the rebound on a Justin Lam shot to put VetiVa ahead 2-1. JOG answered shorthanded at 12:14 when Tracy Wong found Leon Mo with a long breakaway pass behind the VetiVa defense, Mo was initially stopped by Adrian Huen, but Mo stuck around in front of the net to put in the rebound and tie the game 2-2. VetiVa regained the lead at 14:10 as Theo Wong put the loose puck into the open side after Carson Leung (JOG LPP) stopped numerous attempts in close by Arthur Tam and Josh Steinhaus to make it 3-2 after one. JOG opened the second period with pressure, and Jacob McLoughlin tied the game 3-3 just 1:36 in, as he sat on the backdoor and converting the pass from Brian Luk. At 12:36, Oscar Lam capitalized on as he put in his own rebound to give JOG a 4-3 lead after 2 periods. VetiVa clawed back in the third period when Wong struck again at 10:34, when Juerg Fritschi gave him a long pass at the blueline and Wong converted on the partial breakaway to tie it 4-4. As the teams were unable to capitalize on some late chances, we went to overtime. Overtime did not last long. At 3:03, Arthur Tam blocked a pass in the neutral zone, broke free and walked in alone, scoring 5-hole past Carson Leung (JOG LPP) to lift VetiVa to a 5-4 victory. In goal, Adrian Huen made 20 saves on 24 shots for VetiVa, while Carson Leung (JOG LPP) stopped 26 of 31. Three Stars of the Game: 1. Paul Chai (VetiVa) - 2 goals 2. Theo Wong (VetiVa) - 2 goals 3. About the South China Ice Hockey League

The SCIHL was the first ever Ice Hockey league organized in Hong Kong during the 1995-1996 season by a company called Asiasports Ltd. The company was founded by a group of Ice Hockey enthusiasts led by Tom Barnes. Today, the league is organized by a committee led by Commissioner Art Tam and Deputy Commissioner Grant Phillips and is supported by the China Hockey Group. The league is fun, competitive and provides more people the opportunity to play the coolest game in Asia.
