The Chiu Chiu Train

Oct 25 - Hong KongDanny Chiu remained hot after this initial game and scored three times, again, to lead Bravo to their first win of the season while handing Sam Wai their first loss of the season. Chiu subbed in for Dan Vo and got things going early in the second period after a scoreless first period. After Sam Wai failed to clear the puck out of their zone, Chiu took advantage by picking off an errand pass and walked in to beat Sam Wai goalie Sugar Ray Loo.In fact, it was a huge period for Bravo exploding for four goals in the second period. Bravo took advantage of the defensive lapses leaving poor Loo to defend for himself. Allan Yee made it 2-0 by putting in his rebound after Loo stopped him three or maybe four times. Chiu then completed his hat trick scoring with two quick goals and before you know it, Bravo was up 4-0 just 6:15 into the period. That prompted the Sam Wai team to take a time out to settle the game down. With only a second left in the period, Art Tam got one back for Sam Wai beating Bravo goalie Scotty Yang, to give them a glimmer of hope down 4-1 heading into the third period.Sam Wai closed the gap to 4-2 after Leon Mo did a good job keeping the puck in the Bravo zone. Mo came in and snapped a shot past the blocker of Yang. Vinny Chow thought he closed the gap within 1 but his stick was above the crossbar when he batted the puck out of mid-air. That was it for the scoring as Bravo held on for a 4-2 win. Yang had a solid game stopping 19 shots while Loo stopped 36.
