VetiVa survives CHG comeback in 5-4 thriller

VetiVa exploded out of the gate and then held off a furious third-period rally from China Hockey Group to claim a 5-4 win in a high-octane matchup.

Although CHG held most of the play, VetiVa dominated the first period with three unanswered goals - Matt Ng opened the scoring at 3:00 finishing off Paul Chai's feed during a 2 on 1, Justin Lam doubled the lead at 10:50 when his slap shot from the point deflected off a CHG stick and into the top corner, and Ng struck again at 14:44 after getting a backdoor pass from Theo Wong before deking Sumi Chau and slotting it on the open side to make it 3-0.

Two minutes into the 2nd, Theo Wong then added his first of the night as he came down the right side, cut across the crease and put it by Chau on the far side. Warren Ang, coming off two 4 goal games, scored again as he finished a beautiful 2 on 1 with Leon Mo (CHG LPP) as he one-timed the pass over Grant Phillips glove (VetiVa LPP) to make it 4-1.
