Sapporo Survives Late Comeback
Sapporo took at 9-5 lead early in the third period thanks in large part to Blake Steele's hat trick goal. It was a big goal as Sapporo had to fend off a late charge by the Sam Wai Raptors to hang on for a 9-8 victory.
Sapporo led 5-2 after the first and 8-5 after the second and had full control of game. After Steele’s hat trick, the Raptors mounted a comeback beginning with Kentaro Yanagawa (LPP). Cole Poliziani scored his fourth goal of the night and Scott Strickland scored with 1:45 remaining to make it interesting. However, Sapporo was able to hang on for the win.
Arthur Chan stopped 21 for Sapporo while Kevin Rushton stopped 23.
