Lions Capture Division 3 Championship!

RBC Lions are the SCIHL Division 3, 2023-2024 Champions!
After another competitive regular season where playoff spots and the final teams to make the playoffs weren’t settled until the last game, it was time for the championship final between AsiaXpat and RBC Lions.
The game started in a tight checking affair with both teams clogging up the neutral zone hoping to capitalize on a turnover. The first period was very evenly played with chances on both ends and it wasn’t until late in the period did Jovi Wat score the opening goal.
In the 2nd period, RBC put the pressure on AsiaXpat, as they aggressively forechecked and did not allow Xpat any space. It worked so well that they drew a couple penalties where Calix Ma scored on the powerplay finishing the passing play with Wat and Charles Liu to give RBC a 2-0 lead. RBC dominated the 2nd and outshot Xpat 12-0.
30 seconds into the 3rd period, Wat scored again to make it 3-0 and Xpat although stepped up their game in the 3rd, was only able to break Keira Mok’s shutout bid with their own powerplay goal late in the game.
Keira Mok (RBC) faced 13 shots while Martin Jim (AsiaXpat) was busier with 26 shots.
